Welcome to The Victorian Football Association latest blog. We are trying to preserve Great Britain's football heritage from the reign of Queen Victoria and to ammass as many photographs and stories from that era to pass on to the next. Based in the south side of Glasgow we are surrounded on all sides by reminders of the birth of this great game, from the awesome Hampden Park, home of the last amateur team in Scotland and of the national team, to the mossy overgrown slopes of Cathkin Park, long lost and near forgotten home of The Third Lanark Rifle Volunteers. Please feel free to email me any interesting stories and photos you have so that we can build this up over the years.
We are also working on Charity projects under the title 'JUMPERS FOR GOALPOSTS' and aim to raise funds to protect our football heritage and to benefit impoverished communities in the UK and Jamaica, through donations of football equipment and strips. We have some exciting news coming up, so keep an eye on the blog in the next few months...!
